There are two main bush walks available at this time. It is the sole responsibility of the groups wishing to use these walks to be prepared and to abide by the rules when walking through private property etc.
*** You MUST contact Peter Turner the farm manager on firstname.lastname@example.org At least FOUR WEEKS before arriving if you are planning to use any of the walks on the farm. ***
Devlin's Dash. Approx 5 - 7 hours.
Devlin's Dash is a difficult hike which involves walking on the road, through farm property, dense bush, farm tracks and finally down a stretch of coastline that can only be safely walked a hour or so before and after high tide. If the tides are not suitable you can return the same way you came after stopping at the lunch spot. The track is well marked with fluorescent paint.
Bald Spur. 2 - 3 Hours
Please click through the above image for more.
Bald Spur is a walk accessed from the camp itself. A steep climb with the aid of a rope will take you to the top of the ridge overlooking the whole camp, the Waikato river and even the Sky Tower on a good day. Please remember you are on private neighbouring land and farm land. All gates must be shut behind you and all fences treated with care.
